Kidnapping & Rescue
Shana resides in the village of Seles, awaiting her childhood friend’s return from war. One day, the village is attacked by a group of soldiers. They set the village aflame and the residents try to escape or duck for cover. Their commander is led to Shana’s unconscious body, which seems to be guarded heavily. He adjusts her head and holds a small sphere above her forehead. Once it is hit by the moonlight, Shana’s body reacts to it and the sphere sends a beam of light into her forehead. The commander leaves, giving orders to put her in custody. He questions whether or not kidnapping her is necessary, but a cloaked figure reminds him that it is Emperor Doel’s order to do so. The commander asks who she is, but the cloaked man refuses to answer. The soldiers then begin to ride away, taking Shana with them and leaving the burned village of Seles behind.Dart returns to the village, to find it destroyed and almost everyone killed. He then learns that the village was attacked primarily to kidnap Shana, and that she has been taken to Hellena Prison. He sets off to the prison in order to get his dear childhood friend back. The prison is heavily guarded, but Dart manages to get inside easily. He meets a soldier named Lavitz, and the two of them make their way to the top of the prison where Shana is being held. She recognizes Dart at once, and takes a few moments to look at him. The three of them then attempt to escape, but are forced to fight in order to do so. Shana steals a bow and some arrows from outside of a cell and helps the two men in combat. She refuses to be a burden, and since she has grown up from the last time Dart has seen her, she will fight to stay by his side.
The group of three is pursued and once Rose rescues them, they continue forth through a volcano. Shana feels something calling to her and she runs off towards the voices she hears. The group follows her to an ancient creature called Virage, and Shana warns them not to get too close to it because it feels dangerous. They do not think it could still be alive because it was from thousands of years ago, but Rose tells them it is indeed alive. Once they defeat it and the firebird, the group escapes Volcano Villude and continues on their journey to find a dragon nearby. Once they begin traveling through the dragon’s nest, Shana falls ill…
